Our Principles

Our Approach

At Tanganyika Early Years, we celebrate the individuality of each child. We respect their unique perspectives, interests, and abilities. Our curriculum focuses on fostering a growth mindset, encouraging children to take risks and embrace challenges, preparing them for life in the 21st century. We ensure that our learners are confident, well-rounded thinkers who never stop questioning. Our learning experiences are designed to be relevant, purposeful, and authentic, providing a solid foundation for their future academic and personal growth.

Preschool (2 - 5 Years)

Our exceptional Preschool starts from 2 years old and inspires active learning in an unparalleled environment. Our blended curriculum allows for our children to be creative, independent, eager and curious to explore the world around them with confidence. Our preschool is the first step of a learning adventure that leads to our Reception Class, the Junior School and beyond.

Teaching & Learning

Our extensive learning environment, led by our dedicated and fully qualified teachers, combines spacious and stimulating classrooms and amazing outdoor opportunities. These daily opportunities create a fully free flowing holistic experience between the indoor and outdoor environments. This provision ensures that children are challenged and readily make connections in their learning, inspiring high levels of creative and critical thinking. Our preschoolers are engaged through various hands on activities and are also encouraged to take risks and experiment in order to learn intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally in the security of a warm and nurturing surrounding.

Parent Partnership

We strongly believe in working in partnership with parents to provide the best learning support for each child’s overall development. We encourage parents to actively participate in their child’s educational journey, as your involvement is key to their success.

Wellbeing

Our enabling environment helps all children to develop self-confidence through positive relationships and enduring friendships. Our children build on this secure foundation developing resilience and the important characteristics of our Moral Compass: Warmth and Dedication, Love and Care, Personal Attention, Creative Learning, Fun.

Strong Foundations

Our small group learning successfully underpins secure development in essential skills in phonics, literacy and numeracy. This promotes early independence in many areas of learning and is continually assessed and communicated. Parents and family share their child’s learning adventure.

Our youngest learners are part of the whole Tanganyika family and experience everything that we have to offer by participating in whole school events.

Holistic care

Our holistic care supports our children who benefit from our extensive facilities, extra-curricular activities as well as leadership and entrepreneurship programmes. We also offer delicious, healthy and varied meals. We organize for holiday activities during school breaks and longer holidays so that children are cared for in a familiar setting.

Transition to Reception - Your child’s next steps

Our dedicated team supports the preschool children once they complete Kindergarten with their move to the Reception class. The children will already be familiar with Reception teaching staff and the environment that awaits them and children are encouraged to explore all areas of learning through the free-flowing shared learning environments.
